The following is my daily routine. Read about the three other elements involved and why they’re important.

Scheduling

  1. One thing that is difficult to keep up with is scheduling. It is always challenging to keep up with the changes to my client’s schedules which effects my calendar.

An example of the confusion and this is quite typical, last night, I received a text cancellation for a session this morning. So knowing that time slot was available, I offered to bump up another client to the earlier time. Changing the client to an earlier slot meant her session time was free, but it was too late to fill it, so I took the lost income with ease.

I have 24-hour cancellation rule. If you are not able to make a session and you cannot give me 24-hours notice, then I will charge you for the missed session. You may think this is harsh, but if I cannot fill the session, then it’s lost income.

Billing

Accounting is my least favorite part of owning a business. I use software designed to help keep track of my finances. It is time-consuming and laborious to keep it all current. Why? I receive payments at all different times for the month from my clients.  I highly recommend Intuit.com (Quick Books), it has made my accounting experiences much more comfortable than the first few years of being on my own.

Blogging

Taking the time to create a new blog post daily has undoubtedly been another challenge. I am trying to write a little throughout my workday. I enjoy this part of my day. Every day I blog, I learn a new thing about posting and marketing, and I am continually learning Word Press, the software for my blog. The blog also provides free information to my clients’ but to others interested in learning how to be healthy.

Now, you can get a bit of insight of what it takes to run my training business. Even though there are difficult tasks, I still enjoy my freedom and training my clients.  I get to learn and change my schedule every day, keeping my day enjoyable.
